Introduction to Ratneya Cares

                       Project Ratneya Cares

What is Ratneya Cares?

Ratneya Cares is an environmental initiative by Ratneya Group started by Deepak Doddamani on 19th February 2021. Deepak Doddamani always believed in 'Giving Back' to Society. So when he formed 'Ashwamedh Group' in the year 2010 to work in diversified sectors like Media, Education, Personal Finance, he made sure that he will also establish an NGO apart from other businesses, to give back to Society. Ashwamedh Foundation is working in the Child Education and Development Sector since 2012. So now when he is establishing Ratneya Group to work in diversified sectors like Consultancy, Foods, Farms, Healthcare, etc. he has started an initiative 'Ratneya Cares' for giving back to the Society.

   Background Story:

Deepak Doddamani has always been vocal about environmental issues. He participated in the fight against genetically modified Brinjal and Tomatoes as a Volunteer of a famous environmental NGO when he was a college student. As a Social Worker, whenever he was invited by Schools or Colleges as a Chief Guest, he used their platforms to encourage students to live 'environment-friendly' lives. As a Short-film maker, he created short-films related to saving flora and fauna. His Short-film 'Save Birds' was shown at Vasundhara Festival by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board in 2011. It was also part of the Film Festival in Kochi that same year. Deepak has faced the wrath of his neighbors/society members several times for keeping Water in his gallery for Birds, but he continues to do so.

Deepak's love for Trees comes from his childhood memories. His father's love for gardening encouraged him to plant trees and take care of them. While growing up, he helplessly saw the concretization of cities and couldn't do much about it. So when he founded an NGO Ashwamedh Foundation, he and his team made sure that students will plant Trees on every Environment Day and make themselves aware of environmental issues on every Earth Day. Even though he is afraid of Snakes, he made sure to stay at Murbad NGO Center on Weekends to teach children. The presence of the family of reptiles in that area encouraged him to study more about how to differentiate venomous snakes from non-venomous snakes. He watched several videos on Snakes Rescues and became a fan of people who are rescuing snakes. The encroachment of the human race in the Jungles always worries him. Leopards entering Mumbai, Bisons entering in Pune news makes him feel bad for animals who are losing their homes and coming in Cities in search of food. Wildlife conservation is one topic that is close to his heart. He is against the concepts of Zoo and Circus. He believes that Wild Life belongs to Jungles and it's a responsibility of the Human race to protect Jungles.

The other topic which haunts Deepak is Solid Waste Management. His heart cried when he saw a documentary on the lives of people working in dumping yards on Deonar. Big cities create tonnes of Solid Waste daily which is dangerous for the health of people, animals, and the environment. When Deepak got a chance from Pune based company to work on a Project for creating awareness about Solid Waste Management, he himself took leadership of the project and carried out the awareness work in 45 schools of Thane and Palghar with the help of his team. Deepak Doddamani has always been vocal about E-waste and encouraged his team members to collect e-waste from people door to door and give it to recycling units. He himself makes DIY items from the Cardboard boxes which he gets from Amazon Deliveries. Converting Waste material into something useful makes him really happy. He has been using Cloth bags for buying groceries and vegetables, well before the Government banned the use of plastics. Whenever he goes to a picnic with his Nephews, he makes sure to carry a garbage bag with him and teaches children to put all the garbage in that bag and refrain from littering it anywhere.  On personal levels, Deepak Doddamani is living an environment-friendly life. So it was always on his mind to do something important in the Environment sector too. Ratneya Cares is born out of his love for the environment.

   The inspiration behind Ratneya Cares:

It was easy to focus on personal environment-friendly practices and habits. What made Deepak Doddamani start 'Project Ratneya Cares'? The answer lies in the 'Coronavirus related Lockdown' period of 2020. Due to Coronavirus, the human race came under threat of viral respiratory disease of Covid-19. The world was forced to sit at home and that gave an opportunity to Environment to heal itself. Pictures of Clean Rivers, Himalayan Range visible to naked eyes from 200 Kms away, Peacocks dancing in Mumbai fearlessly, Deers roaming on streets freely, etc. pictures touched his hearts. Pollution-Free cities, harmony between animals and humans, and clean water resources everything looked so perfect.

But as the lockdown got over and humans started their routine lives he came across videos where Elephants were burnt alive by humans, Bison was killed by spectators who ran behind him and many more. That literally made him cry. He realized one thing very clearly that the fight between humans and animals is never-ending. So it's important to support the people who believe in rescuing distressed animals, who feed stray dogs, who keep water for birds in their balconies, who adopt dogs and cats who don't have homes, people who don't use leather products, and so on. Ratneya Cares for all such people and congratulates them for their love for the Environment, Animals, and Nature. We have one Earth only and it's important to protect it. It's important to plant trees. It's important to Save Jungles, Save Wild Life, Save Birds. It's important to protect the Ozone Layer. It's important to stop the use of plastics. It is important to create awareness in children about Global Warming, the Adverse effect of Pollution, and the importance of Waste Management. Ratneya Care will try to do that all.

 Ratneya Cares: The way ahead

The decade 2010-2020 belonged to the 'Ashwamedh Group'. The decade 2021-2030 will belong to the 'Ratneya Group'. As a Founder of Ratneya Group, Mr. Deepak Doddamani is committed to establishing at least three successful businesses under the Conglomerate 'Ratneya Group'. But apart from that, he will try his best to do something better for the Environment through the Project Ratneya Cares - an initiative by the Ratneya Group. That will help him to 'Give back to Society', as he always does.

Ratneya Cares will focus on environmental issues discussions, awareness campaigns, advocacy for wild-life conservation, use of biodegradable options, and so on. It will encourage people to do good for the environment and expose people who are harming the environment through activism. Ratneya Cares will spend time, money and energy on creating environment-friendly practices for the general public and corporates. It will sell only Environment-friendly products and handicrafts created by tribal people. Ratneya Cares will lead by example. It will encourage people to be vocal about environmental issues.

Ratneya Cares is an initiative by Ratneya Group for greener, cleaner and better tomorrow!
